You probably won't hear them run. You can  regulate its voltage from 3-9 volts DC (to reduce RPM and noise use a lower setting). Transformer is switch selectable 110v or 220v AC to DC. It was designed to sit close to the source of heat and Blow on the heatsinks of your equipment. The low steady stream of air will effectively cool your Plasma or other equipment.  The fan can be plugged in and run continuous, or it can be activated by one of your equipments switched sources or power strip. Specifications… Designed to mount over the vent holes of Plasma TV's or sit on the top of the amplifier vents and blow  heat over the heatsinks. The fans consume less than 5 watts. The 80mm fans measures 3.25"  square by 1.0" high. You will need an 1/8" clearance from the fan to the wall. Therefore you will want your plasma tv 1.2 inches away from the wall. Add a washer for spacing from wall if you do not have 1.2" of clearance. There is 44" of spacing possible between the two fans so you should be able to make it work with 42" or 50" plasmas. We include 8 black tie wraps. Use at least two per fan to secure through the vent holes. A Personal note from the editor of WindyWilly: This twin fan was originally developed because I had purchased a Panasonic Plasma 42" Model# TH-42PWD7UY. To my dismay Panasonic thought they had created a Plasma that was efficient enough not to need cooling fans. Even though it is cooler than most other plasma's, we at WindyWilly will never except this practice of non active cooling. If there is a possibility of cooling heatsink components that may possibly reduce an expensive repair bill a few years from now, then we believe it to be a wise investment. I also noticed that other Vendors Plasma TV's run very warm because they are not as efficient as Panasonic, and also because their active cooling fans are so small. This TWIN cooler will supplement the small fans that are already on those plasmas. This is the first LED fan that we sell that has Glowing LED's.  I personally like the RED LED's behind the Plasma which give it a bit of a theater look. Also, nice as a night light if you keep the fans running.  BLUE LEDS look great on stereo equipment. After mounting this twin fan system on my plasma I am happy to report that it went from being pretty warm to the touch, to nice and cool. Try it out  for 10 minutes with and without. I believe you will be pleased and hope I have saved you some money on possible repair bills in the future. Installation help and recommendations. We recommend placing your plasma face down on a bed to ensure that you do not scratch the screen and that it makes installation easier. Figure out where the silver aluminum heatsinks are on your plasma (usually in the middle of the screen towards the outside edges. It will still work fine over any vent holes even if this is not the heatsink location. If the fans were to stop spinning or were not turned on, they will not restrict air. Even though some wall mounts are 1" from the wall we recommend a bit more clearance and you can get it by adding a 1/8" thick washer to your mount if you do not have this space. A one inch thick fan ensures better air movement needed when we run these at such a low and quiet RPM. Once you have located where your fans should go and noted where some vent holes are at the fan hole locations it is time to place the tie wraps. Bend the tie wrap fully 1/4" from the tip, this will make it easy to feed through one vent hole to the other. Pull the tie wrap so that there is 50% coming out of both sides of the hole being used. Place all tie wraps at there locations. We only use two locations and not all four because two will suffice. Now you can place the fan at the tie wrap locations and pull the tie wrap through and around the first hole of the fan (nearest the plasma display) only. Do not come through the outside top hole of the fan or this will add thickness to the fan between the wall if wall mounting (not an issue for table top mounted units) . Do not pull any tie wraps tight around the fan until you have both fans in place. This way you can pull up any left over line and tie wrap it to that location by the fan. We recommend that you run the black transformer cord down with the Plasma TV power cord and use black tie wraps so it is not seen any more than your power cord is seen. NOTE: The Vendor label on the fan is the direction that the air flows out from the fan. This label should go face down towards the vent holes that you are trying to get air into.
