Description

A low profile, 80mm x 25mm (about 3.25″ x 1″), commercial grade, crack resistant fan with a low voltage transformer.  Fan uses DC power to to help reduce noise and distortion that can occur between AC fans and electronic equipment.  Temperature sensing means as the surrounding area heats up, the fan will spin at a faster RPM.  The fan starts up as soon as it is plugged in and is very quiet at normal room temperature.

Includes a UL listed 110vac to safe 12vdc converter transformer.  Transformer cord length is 6 feet and is DETACHABLE from the fan. Plugs into a 110-120v, 50-60hz, 2 prong USA wall outlet.  Plug in to a normal outlet to run continuous, or plug in to one of your “switched” power sources on the back of your equipment to only come on when your equipment is turned on.

Use a #10 screw of the length that you need from your local  home improvement store to secure the fan through the 4 holes.

• Aquariums:  Works great on top of aquarium hoods with a 3.25″ cutout.  The fan will slip into and exhaust the heat generated from the light out the top of the hood.  The steady stream of air will effectively cool your equipment in less than 5 minutes

Air Filtering Note: Air filters are not needed as air comes in from the back open slot of aquariums and exhausts out the top of the hood. If you do wish to filter the air coming in, use filter media for air conditioners (Home Depot or Wal-Mart) and cover up the back open vent of your aquarium to filter the incoming air.  Leave the fans as free flowing as possible (without filters or grills) for the most effective cooling.

This fan mounts so that the heat exhausts out of the square end of the fan. This will be facing the top of your aquarium hood or the back of your stereo enclosure.  The intake side is round and the exhaust side is square for perfect mounting in cabinets and hoods with minimal intrusion.  If you cut a hole for mounting in a cabinet or aquarium top, use a 3.25″ hole saw or trace around the round part of the fan and cut with a jig saw.  It can also be placed on its side and will stand up if you want to use this way.
